Were you aware that Canada was nearly captured from the british as part of the American Revolution? We’d have had it if weather had not prevented 2 of 3 armies from reaching Montreal to provide reinforcements for the attack on Quebec. Without them the Americans were too few and pushed out. Otherwise the artillery reinforcements had were supossedly enough to tip the odds towards our definite vicroty.
At least that’s how it was taught in my American Military course.
