You can download a client like Twitterfox or Twhirl which will ding whenever you get a reply - you can also upload via it and see the updates of those that you follow. I just like that it lets me know when I get replies. Twhirl is great because it keeps everything neat and you can actually see all the replies you’ve gotten.
